Ballard Neighborhood, Seattle

Morning in Ballard, where to eat and what to see?

What should I eat and see in Ballard?  I'm only going to be there in the morning until early afternoon.

Bitterroot BBQ is one of my fav places for dinner and they have an awesome whiskey bar in the back.

Salmon Bay Cafe is great. Its old school Ballard.  Very "unfancy" but the food is great.

You could eat at the The Hi-Life!  It's an old converted firehouse that has amazing food, mostly from local sources.  Awesome breakfast!

If you're there on a weekend, the Ballard Sunday Farmers Market is always fun.

I'm not sure about food, but you should check out two things if you have time:

  1. Ballard Locks, where you can see the salmon/fish and boats passing in their morning traffic pattern.
  2. Sonic Boom Records, the ultimate Seattle record store experience. They have everything, and are almost always playing records while you're shopping.

If you love the outdoors, you could go for a run/hike in Discovery Park or Golden Gardens, which are both within striking distance to Ballard Neighborhood.

Have a great time!
