Visit-worthy wineries in the Balkan nations?

We are planning a trip to the Baltic region (Croatia, Romania and south,  excluding Greece). We would like to visit some wineries while we are there and sample their wines. Any recommendations?

Dear Ms. Bibb,

Thank you for your interest in Romania!

Please let us know what areas you are planning to visit and we will send you a list of wineries which are open for walk-ins/ independent travelers.

Most wineries in Romania are open for groups or for pre-booked tastings.

A very easily accessible winery is the Pensiunea Rhein in Azuga

not far from Peleş Castle and Dracula's Castle.

Cellars are open every day and offer still and sparkling wine tastings.

We look forward to welcoming you to Romania !

In Romania, I'd recommend Recaș winery near Timisoara.

There's a beautiful looking wine region just south-west of Podgorica, Montenegro that we drove through, but we didn't have time to visit any of the wineries there yet.
