Hello, We have planned a week long trip to Bali in the last week of June. We are a small family of 3 with a toddler. I could really use your help in planning my itinerary. Here are our stay plans:
1. 4 nights in Ubud (Staying in an Airbnb villa in Penestenan)
2. 2 Nights in Nusa Dua (Staying in Rumah Bali)
Our interests are to cover major temples (cant miss Uluwatu and Goa Gajah), at least 1 active volcano site, water sports, beaches, shopping and of course spa! Can you please suggest a rough trip plan or the list of places that we must cover. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks a lot for your help!
Hi! Bali is wonderful. What a great choice! Though I've traveled there 7 times; none were with a toddler.
Check with tourist shops or hotels for a festival and join in to watch or walk along. There's one going on the island everyday.
There are plenty of day trips to the 🌋.
Go to Gamelan orchestras - coconut fire dance, trance dance or other types. Wonderful and enchanting and your toddler might just fall asleep due to hypnotic nature of music.
Stay overnight at BnB or hotel set "inside" a rice paddy. Wonderful experience.
Tour around nearby villages around Ubud to see painters, shadow puppet makers...furniture.
My fave places are the hotels or BnB s along Ayung River Bali near Four Seasons Resort Bali At Sayan🏨Hotel. You will not want to go anywhere except to soak in sounds, ambience, terraced rice paddies, fruits, black rice pudding...chicken satay.
Less driving around on busy roads and more time relaxing taking in the scenery or villages. Maybe do a birding tour too.
Don't drive all over the island. You'll be tired, toddler will be crying and really not any better for what most Westerners enjoy. Yoga classes would be memorable with your toddler.
