Baggage from international to domestic flight

HI we are travelling back with VS from Miami, and have a 6hr layover in LHR - before going to MAN with BA (ticketed through with both carriers) My question is... can we have our bags at LHR and hop on the train rather than wait 6 hours ? ta much. :-)

As you have a through ticket your bags will be checked right through to Manchester and won't appear at heathrow airport baggage reclaim. So you'll have to ask Virgin Atlantic directly if they are willing to check your bags to Heathrow. They may be willing, they may not. You'll need to ask them directly because no-one else can tell you for certain.

I suspect they may not because, by taking the train from Heathrow to Mancs you will be a 'no show' and are, in effect, cancelling your BA flight. That will cause hassle for the airlines concerned be may cause you some hassle too. Cancelling one leg of a two-segment journey can result in the whole journey being be careful.

Even if Virgin say it is possible ( I suspect they may not) do double-check at your Miami check-in that your bags are properly labelled with a final destination of Heathrow.
