What is the best 3-4 day road trips

We will be taking a road trip from Avignon to Paris and would like to see as many points of interest along the way as possible, stopping at Inn's and B&B's.

We travelled from Avignon to Paris via Lyon and the Loire Valley before Christmas last year.
we did it over 6 nights as we stopped in Lyon and Loire Valley before driving via Orleans back to Paris. Avignon is beautiful, you must see at least one of the Château in Loire Valley - we went to Chenonceau which was fabulous. Orleans is well worth stopping at and if you can detour into Lyon and The Beaujolais well worth it
Enjoy your trip, we loved ours!

Hello Joan,

If you are having time, do not take the highway. Landscapes are more beautiful by taking small roads (national).

Have a nice trip et bon voyage !

When I did the reverse (north to south), I really enjoyed stopping in the Ardeche (2 days in the Ardeche). There are caves, kayaking, and the gorge...kind of like the Grand Canyon. I stayed in a B and B near Vallon Pont d'Arc (where there is the famous arc that you can kayak under...I did).  This was my itinerary (my 31st trip to France!). Another option is Lyon--great town and lots to see.  Check out the other itineraries to get other ideas.
