Fine dining in Austin

What are some of the nicer restaurants in Austin?  Think Michelin Stars and James Beard Awards type restaurants.  Looking for some nice places to go with my food-loving friends!

Austin (Texas)

These are some of my favorites.  Uchi Restaurantis great. Chef Tyson Cole does modern sushi better than anyone I can think of. His original Austin sushi bar is intimate and laid back. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation.

Then there's Uchiko, like Uchi, only much bigger. Executive Chef Paul Qui makes delicious, inventive sushi dishes, but don't skip the Brussels sprouts (yes, I know they're not a "typical" Japanese dish). They're addictive.

Justine's is a French brasserie on Austin's hipster-filled east side. Lots of 20s and 30s flair, sexy food and atmosphere. Bring a date.

Barley Swine is one of the country’s most notable restaurant openings of 2011. Try the Wagyu brisket, coffee, barbecued beans and slaw.

Just throwing this one in, but yes, you can find gourmet food from a truck. Odd Duck is proof. Owned & operated by the same folks at Barley Swine, this might be my favorite food truck in the country. I loved their goat-cheese cheese grits with duck egg, venison sausage and mushrooms.

My favorite fine dining in Austin right now is Restaurant Jezebel (JezebelATX. There is no menu. The maitre'd simply asks you your food likes and dislikes, and brings out course after course. Jacket required, which is rare in this town.

My favorite steak in town is Steiner Ranch Steakhouse, which is in the remote western part of town. Inside is an upscale environment. Out on the back porch is more casual.

I've heard of bars like that, but never a restaurant. I'll have to try it. Thank you, Brian!
