Fun Things to do in Austin over 4th of July?

Hello everybody!

I am going to Austin in early July and will be there for Independence Day - any fun things to do that you recommend? Such as restaurants, bars, events that only happen that time of year?

Thank you!!!!!

Auditorium Shores at Town Lake Metropolitan Park- is where the annual fireworks are.  It's right on the shores of Lady Bird Lake and the Symphony Orchestra does a show on the lawn of The Long Center for the Performing Arts leading up to fireworks.  You might launch a kayak from the Hyatt Regency Austin dock with Capital Cruiseskayaks to get away from the crowds.  You can also take in the bats nightly departure from the Statesman Bat Observation Center before the fireworks as well.  Plenty of parking at the Hyatt Regency Austinwith that new garage.

Zilker Park will most likely have something going on :) Check out Barton Springs Pool, I love it there. Also E 6th St/ 6th street will most likely be really lively at night! Have fun!
