Brooke from Nashville asked

Best family activities in Atlanta?

I'm going to be in Atlanta with my family and my sisters. There will be 5 kids total (ages 5-12) and we were wondering what kinds of activities families and kids can enjoy in Atlanta?

The Georgia Aquarium is actually fantastic!  Also, in the same complex are the World of Coca-Cola (not my fav...but kids love it) and a new football hall of fame place (boys love it....not my thing, either!)  In the same area, there is the CNN Studio Tour center where you can see how the news is produced on a tour.  Although, I was a bit bored last time.....it could be a shorter tour.  There is also a new "sky wheel" in that smae area.  You could do all of the above in a day and its all in the same area.

The Zoo Atlanta is small but nice.  Good for maybe a half day.  And, there is Six Flags Over Georgia if you want a theme park.

Piedmont Park always has lots of activity.  (Concerts, rent bikes, rollerblades, etc.)

Don't miss the Georgia Aquarium! Your kids are the perfect ages to enjoy this. A trip to Stone Mountain is a great day out activity as well. If the kids like hot dogs take them to The Varsity - such a iconic Atlanta experience. Have fun!

The Atlanta History Center is fantastic for kids (and adults).  My daughter and her Girl Scout troop really enjoyed visiting the old farm that they have moved from another location nearby.  The farm includes a house, barns, a garden and some farm animals, plus characters dressed up for the time-period.  A short walk away on-property is the beautiful Swan House.  This house is from the 1930's and there are characters dressed up in this house as well from the time period.  A small shade garden is between the two with plants native to the area.

I would agree with other that the Georgia Aquariumis a great location with kids.
