I've been to Aruba before and stayed at Divi Villiage Golf and Beach Resort which was really nice and the bed was super comfy but it wasn't really close to anything. What is a really nice hotel with very comfy beds, on or by the beach, and close to shops and watersports?
My wife & I stayed at Manchebo Resort & Spa Hotel Palm Beach http://www.manchebo.com/ on our honeymoon 4 years ago. It's almost exactly halfway down the coast between the high-rises up north & the Oranjastad down south. It has the best beach on the island & while a little quieter than some other resorts, was great for actually getting some rest after a long day of exploring the northern coast, seeing the sights or baking in the sun. Also, there were terrific food options & the service was very, very good.
We stayed at the Renaissance Aruba Resort And Casino, it was in Oranjestad. Has a private island, you catch the boat in the lobby. It was a very nice hotel in the middle of town
If you want to be in Oranjestad- the center of the island, the Renaissance Aruba Resort And Casino is beautiful and has every amenity possible, including a private island. If you want to be in a beautiful beach atmosphere, both the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino and The Ritz-Carlton, Aruba are on Palm Beach and they are lush. There are also Marriott timeshares in this same beach area if you want more space than a hotel room, but with all the same pools and beach and walkable restaurant options.

The Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa, Or the Holiday Inn Resort (for a super cheap option) both in Palm Beach. Both are right across from the mall. I like the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino, it's a little further down though.
