I have 10 days to travel somewhere in Argentina outside of Patagonia (el Calafate) and Buenos Aires. Where should I go? Please prioritize rank and how many days to spend in the place.
More context: I love hiking, swimming, and coffee. My only plan from Dec. 5-25 is to spend 8-10 days down in Patagonia and trying to see what else makes sense to visit in Buenos Aires. I don't mind a 15-20 hour bus ride, but not much longer.
Since you'll already be in Patagonia (Argentina) you can go to San Carlos de Bariloche as Christine says. Nearby you have San Martin de los Andes adn Villa La Angostura, for example. Those are beautiful places, with lots of oportunities to hike.
You could also go to Mendoza, which is really wonderful, Iguazú Falls, or the north east Salta and San Salvador de Jujuy. All these places are 17 or 18 hours away from Buenos Aires. Mendoza is nearer.

Ruta de los siete Lagos ...the seven lakes around San Carlos de Bariloche are pretty spectacular. I hired a car and drove it. Pretty spectacular and enough small towns to offer coffee and good food in between more rustic natural experiences.
