My wife and I want to check out Arcata as a possible place to move but we live in San Diego: how best to get there for a four-day trip?
Arcata (California) is served by Arcata-Eureka Airport (ACV) in McKinleyville, also called the California Redwood Coast – Humboldt County Airport.
San Francisco International Airport, Sacramento International Airport and Oakland International Airport (OAK) airports are all about the same distance away (around 290 miles).

Be aware if you are flying into San Francisco International Airport anywhere near rush hour you will have to drive through the city to go north. Oakland can be an easier airport and generally cars are a bit cheaper. Sac is by far the easiest of the three but has limited flights. I’d check out the smaller airports in Humboldt (California) Santa Rosa (California) just in case.
