Best activity in Anguilla

4 days in late June, staying at the Viceroy.  I'd love one activity 'off-resort' that would give me the best 'flavor' of the island. Thanks!

If at all possible do check out Bankie Banx's Dune Preserve he is a talented musician and overall chill guy and you will have a true taste of Anguilla if it is open while you are there. He created Moonsplash, a yearly reggae festival which I would highly recommend going to on your next Anguilla escape :) Many famous musicians end up here for some impromptu jam sessions.

Hiring a boat for the day in order to see Anguilla from the water is spectacular and you get an entirely different feel of the island. I hope this is something that you can do. If you can, start with Sandy Island it looks like something out of the movie Cast Away except for you won't be lonely or need to bring Wilson. The fun is already waiting for you. Eat, drink, walk the beach, go shelling, can do it all!  Odds are, you will end up on the beach dancing with all of the other folks who have left their cares on the mainland.

Crocus Bay for some cliff diving. If you are the fearless type. Or just take in the sunset here, the colors are amazing. Fiery reds and oranges above the clear turquoise water. Not many people get to see this place and it won't be crowded, it is heaven.

Take a walk along Mead's Bay Pond just up the road from Viceroy Anguilla. There's a fun place to eat on the beach there called Blanchards Beach Shack. From Sandy Ground, take the quick five minute boat ride over to Sandy Island, a great place for lunch, snorkeling and relaxation on your (almost) own deserted island. Another must visit is Little Bay near Crocus Bay RdThis beach can only be reached by boat, or by climbing down a rope off a little trail down to the beach, or by paddle board from Crocus Bay. It is worth the trek though; a beautiful, secluded beach with fun snorkeling and some adventurous spots to jump off of into the clear water. Anguilla is known for its many amazing beaches and another beautiful one to visit is Shoal Bay Village. Have a great trip!
