Getting train from florence to ancona for a ferry, which bus line connects you to the check in point? Is it the number 12? Thanks
hi, i just did this myself 10 days ago.. there was no bus during the time we were at the train station, which was midday.. we had a lot of stuff so walking was out of the question. A cab was 14 euro for a 5 min drive to the ferry ticket check in.. a rip off but our only option. They just make up prices. Once you get to the ticket check in and have your tickets, you take a free bus, # 20 to the actual ferry port. Its the only one that comes there I believe so it's not confusing. Make sure you leave enough time because after getting our tickets we waited about an hour for it.
Bus 12 does go from Anconarailway station ('Stazione FS Centrale') to the Terminal (the ticket office...'biglietterie') but it doesn't run very often.

If the bus times don't suit then I suggest you just take a taxi. It's only about 2km (under 1.5 miles) so won't cost you much. Or, if you haven't got much baggage, you could just walk? Maybe half an hour or so?
