Disneyland Fireworks - best place to see them NOT at the park

What is the best place to view the Disneyland fireworks that isn't inside the park and therefore doesn't require a $100+ admission ticket?  This question also includes the location of convenient preferably free parking.  Thanks Trippy people.

Best place, NOT at the parks, would be on the bridge by Taco Bell. Just park there and walk to the bridge. You'll have a great view of the projection, and you should still be able to hear the music.

Other than that, I'd recommend watching them from the large open area between House of Blues and Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney District. Unfortunately, this area gets very busy, and you don't get the full experience.

Good luck.

Downtown Disney District dead-ends right between the entrances to the parks (Disneyland and California Adventure) and that would be a great spot to watch from. If you eat dinner at Downtown Disney, the restaurants will validate your parking. Bonus is that it's a fun place to wander around and it's free!

Downtown Disney is free, and parking is free forms couple hours with validation available at the the stores and restaurants. Best place to watch the fireworks.

Anaheim is surrounded by its more hilly neighbors to the North and East, so many public parks in Fullerton, Brea, Placentia, Yorba Linda or Anaheim Hills offer a good opportunity for seeing Disneyland fireworks (and during major festivities such as 4th of July, other fireworks as well). Hillcrest Park is one such spot, a short drive up Harbor Blvd, covering a hilly area, with free parking.
