Hi Tony,

Bar Ludwig,HPS (Hiding in Plain Sight),  G&T's Really Really Nice Place (this is the name :) and Bar Paul would be great choices. More you can find here - Amsterdam Nightlife.

Amsterdam has plenty of nice coffee spots. Have a look at Vinnies Deli, Espressofabriek Westergasfabriek, Two for Joy Coffee Roasters. See more here - Amsterdam Coffee.

We have also created a special bucket 'Amsterdam in a weekend'. You can get it for free and if you download the app you will have offline access.

Must see neigborhoods to look at are:

  • Pijp
  • Jordaan
  • 9 Streets
  • Canal Area
  • Westergasfabriek

I hope you have a great stay.

Groetjes,

Roel

Cocktails:

Amsterdam isn't famous for cocktail bars, but there are a few new trendy hotels with good bars:

The College Hotel

Conservatorium Hotel

Andaz

SupperClub

Morning after:

Buffet van Odette

Greenwoods Singel

Here also a few restaurants to consider:

Andaz

Toscanini

Envy Delicacies

Also to be a bit comprehensive here are my favorite hotels:

Ambassade Hotel

They rent an "appartment" which is great. Location is very good too

Otherwise i like the

Hotel Pulitzer, Amsterdam

Two more things you need to do is:

Rent bikes -your hotel will refer you to places and

Rent a boat to go through the "Grachten". I get a electric boat at  Sloepdelen Dock

Have fun!

You should go to Harlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk. The Jordan neighbourhood is also a big plus!

HPS and Vesper are great places for a great cocktail.

Awesome coffee comes with a great, warm apple pie at Winkel 43

Screaming Beans is hands down the best coffee bar in Amsterdam.

Thanks Martijn. I've added the @ symbol to your answer location so that it plots on the little map to the right.
