We went March 16th-19th and there were some days that were warm, and others required heavy coats. One day had a heavy fog farther up the cliffs. We really enjoyed our time in Amalfi! It all depends on what kind of weather you enjoy.

Mentioned in this answer:

  1. Amalfi (city)

I really enjoyed it in mid September. Not too hot, not too crowded, but still shiny

Probably the best time would be between April and September (avoid August, as it gets too hot and too crowded) April-May are great as it is already warm enough, and the towns are so pretty with wisteria and bougainvillea blooming.

Spring: April-May are the best months to enjoy the place. If you're lucky, you can even take a bath.

I would suggest Springtime and not Summer simply because the places tend to be a bit overcrowded (especially Amalfiand Positano).

Don't forget to visit the little towns, they are like precious jewels nestled on the coast. Places like FuroreMaioriMinoriCetara... take a tour and visit it all! It's worth it!

I traveled during the month of April and found many days to be warm and beautiful. I was there for three weeks with only two days of rain.
