I would definitely go to Namibia. It's not a savannah but they have Etosha National Park, a beautiful drive down the Skeleton Coast full of shipwrecks, and the most amazing desert I've been to- Sossusvlei with massive red sand dunes and a petrified forest. Besides, it's really close to the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The biggest inland delta on earth. Unique life experiences. If you try hard you could even go to Victoria Falls in Zambia. Pretty epic trip I would say.

  1. Etosha National Park (park)
  2. Skeleton Coast (attraction)
  3. Sossusvlei (attraction)

My top 2 would be either start in Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls then visit Hwange NP before dropping by Chobe NP and Okavango Delta in Botswana and finish up in the beautiful Etosha National Park in Namibia. Beautiful scenery and lots of elephants, cats and maybe even wild dog!

Second option would be start in Parc des Birunga to trek Mountain Gorillas before heading over to the world-famous Serengeti and Ngorongoro and finishing off with a beautiful beach island setting in Zanzibar. Tons of cats and the awesome herds of wildebeest famously migrate around here. Also very rare black rhino.

  1. Victoria Falls (attraction)
  2. Hwange (attraction)
  3. Chobe (attraction)

  9. Zanzibar (city)
  10. Masai Mara 2 (attraction)

I must have been on around thirty safaris in total across East Africa now, and for one month would recommend visiting the Maasai Mara Game Reservein Kenya to view the big five. Then head down to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania which is the best safari destinations I have been to, with lots of animals sightings on the open African Savannah.  Next pass through Malawi to reach South Luangwa National Park in Zambia where you can have a remote experience next to the Luangwa river sleeping in a tent next to hippos grazing at night, and the occasional group of elephants wandering through camp. Finish up by going to Victoria Falls in Southern Zambia where you can take a microlight across the Zambezi river to view hippos and crocodiles.

This is if you are only interested in wildlife safaris. If you want wider recommendations on things to do in Africa let me know. You could skip the Zambia part of the itinerary and visit tribes in Southern Ethiopia for example and then head to the safaris in Kenya and Tanzania. Or add a visit to the Danakil Depression in Ethiopia.

If I had a month I would do the Danakil Depression for an adventure, then head to the tribes in Southern Ethiopia before going to the Masai Mara and ending it in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater.
