Looking to make my next trip Africa but I have very little idea about how to begin planning. I do know that the Okavango Delta is a must-see. Is the easiest itinerary to fly to Cape Town, South Africa than continue on to Botswana? Anyone have a two-week+ African itinerary? Thanks!
You will find more flights into Jo'berg. From there you can connect to lovely Cape Town or to Maun, Botswana, on regular jet flights. From Maun, you take a single engine aircraft to Moremi, Crossing in the Okavango where you will have hippo-proof accommodations and guided walks among the animals.
From there, fly to the Chobe National Park. There you see lions, cape buffalo, vervet monkeys, and many elephants. Then drive into Zimbabwe to Livingstone where the Zambezi river goes over Victoria Falls. From there, you can ride down to the Hwange National Park for giraffes and sable antelope.
All this is much easier to arrange by signing up with a tour organization who will supply all the transport, guides, accommodations and visits into the homes of local people.
