About Me

My hubby and I are recently retired (in our early 60s) and will be headed to South America in January for 3-4 months. We plan to move slowly around the continent and would love suggestions of "must sees" and "reasonably priced must stays". Looking for quaint towns, good food, health tips, good shopping, local public transportation information and friendly people. Also would like recommendations for accommodations that could include airbnb or vrbo where you have personally stayed and loved. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

Also looking for:

-a small town, local Carnival celebration without all the crowds that is more authentic than glamorous

-a good language immersion experience in Colombia

-a good cooking school experience in any SA country

Thanks so much! Risa

AShoes and Bags for Travel?

I swear by Teva sandals. They not only offer great support for my high arch, work really well on cobblestone streets, but are good in the rain. I think they are actually "water sandals" and I have them in 2 colors. That said, any comfy flat also comes along with... See More
