About Me

I'm a professional with many years of traveling in the US.  In the last few years, I've branched out extensively in the last 6 years to international travel.  All of my international travel is with friends.  I have lots of travel within the US for business but I manage to get away for a short vacation on most of my trips.  I enjoy night life, good food, historical sights, local culture and some scuba diving.

AFort Myers to Gatlinburg: Where to stop in between ft Meyers fl & Gatlinburg tn

I guess it depends on how far you want to go before stopping.  Savannah wouldn't be a bad stopping point unless you want to push through to Hendersonville.  Great little stopping point with some good B&B's and decent local dining... See More

AAtlanta: Best time to bypass Atlanta heading North

6AM or earlier. 10AM to 11:00AM or 1:30 to 2:30 (neither are certain) and after 8PM. A section of I-85 collapsed a week ago and all the roads in Atlanta are going to be bad for the next few months. See More

QLima (Peru): Scuba Diving

I'm heading to Peru at the end of October and I'm interested in any scuba diving that I might find.  Any suggestions would be welcome. See More

ARiga: Best cheap eats in Riga

My experience in Riga did not involve a lot of good food.  We were constantly told that this region of the world is not know for their food and the stuff that was good was pretty expensive.  You might want to look for Russian restaurants, I can't remember the prices... See More

AAtlanta to Memphis: 5 days to drive from Atlanta to Memphis

I would probably not go to Charleston or Savannah.  You are going to spend a large part of your time driving and the drive isn't particularly interesting.  One other possibility that isn't too far out of the way is Asheville... See More

ANew York City: getting from Manhattan to Oklahoma city

Unless you rent a car and drive yourself, greyhound looks like your only option.  As far as stops go, you will be passing not to far from some interesting cities.   It looks like you might be able to go through Nashville, which is a pretty cool city.... See More

QPeru: Travel to Machu Picchu from Lima

I'm traveling to Peru in December for 10 or 12 days.  I'm looking specifically for the best ways to get from Lima to Machu Picchu.  Specifically, is train, bus or airplane the best way to go.  I don't mind spending a little more to travel quickly as I only... See More

AAthens (Georgia): Best free things to do in Athens (Georgia)?

Most of the other suggestions are very good so I'll just add a few of my own.  At Sandy Creek Park you can go paddle boarding which is fun and not too expensive.  Take the time to walk around the historic North Campus of the The University... See More

QBuenos Aires: Traveling to Argentina for 2 weeks in November- any tips & places to see?

Looking for advice on Argentina in November for 2 weeks.  Possibly a short trip to Uruguay and/or Santiago Chile.  What attractions or sites should I see?  Any general travel tips or favorite places would be great as well.   See More

AAustin: Summer in Austin, Texas. What is there to do?

Summer in Austin can be very hot.  I enjoyed going over to the Deep Eddy Pool but it looked like the people that went to the river at the mouth of the of deep eddy and outside the fence, looked like they were having a lot of fun.  Downtown Austin... See More
