ADuluth (Minnesota): 2 days near Duluth

And I forgot to mention Gooseberry Falls which is very close to Split Rock. Beautiful place to hike and see the waters rushing under the road and into Lake Superior. Be sure to take the trail inland, as many other people will also be doing. The scenery is gorgeous and it'll... See More

ADuluth (Minnesota): 2 days near Duluth

Split Rock Lighthouse is less than an hour up highway 61 along Lake Superior and is a MUST. There are also great hiking trails there, and elsewhere along the highway. You'll see plenty of cars parked along the side of the road to indicate a trailhead.  See More

ALisbon to Sintra: Day trip to Sintra from Lisbon

Go early as there is so much to see and do. You'll avoid the crowds by getting there in the morning. The town and castles are fascinating, but don't expect to see everything in a day, or even two days. It's a beautiful place, great for walking and just exploring.... See More

AIf money were no object, where would you go?

I'd go back to Portugal, and stay!! Best place, best people I've ever been, and I've traveled a lot. Unpretentious, unimpressed by wealth and high-status items like cars and clothing. Just real people. Great food. Wonderful weather. Beautiful topography in all... See More

APhoenix to Branson: directions

What mode of transportation are you using? I'm not sure about Branson unless you've driving, but DC to New York is easiest by train (Amtrak). Downtown to Midtown Manhattan without the hassles of flying or driving.  See More
