Salt Lake City

About Me

An epicurean with a desire to learn more about the world and its cultures through food. In the winter, you'll also find me enjoying snow covered mountains with skis and snowshoes. By summer, I've traded the snowshoes for hiking boots and the skis for golf clubs. Throughout the year, I love escaping for underwater adventures of SCUBA diving.

ASeattle: Checking in luggage at airport

As Mary indicated, there is baggage storage at the @Seattle Airport. I have used it and it is great. However, it is a 30 minute drive from the cruise port to the airport. If possible, I would try to store luggage at the cruise port or see if the cruise line has a porter... See More

ASalt Lake City: What is your favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City?

As others have mentioned, @Red Iguana is an amazing stop. But the food doesn't start and stop there. @Whiskey Street is a great place to get some good fare and libations. Also, @The Rest at @Bodega is a must for food. If small plates are your thing,... See More

ALas Vegas: Best tips and casinos for first time gambler?

I have had a "rating" at a strip casino hotel, when I gambled a lot, which afforded me suite upgrades, tickets to shows, meals, etc. It also required me to sit for three to four hours a day at a table, playing $50-100 a hand. That being said, I would never try to... See More

AAmazing spots for scuba diving

Juliette, It looks like you have visited Thailand before, but if you haven't dived Ko Phi Phi Le, I would recommend it. I have spent many holidays there, because even the same dive spot has been a different dive, every time.  I am also a huge... See More

ATokyo: Best way to get from airport to CBD

The Narita express (NEx) is the easiest and fastest way to get from NRT to Tokyo. There used to be a pass that combined the NEx with a Suica (public transit card), however I believe it has been discontinued. You may buy the tickets at the JR East office in either Terminal... See More

AThailand: How do I get from Bangkok to Phi Phi islands?

Anita, I recommend flying out of Don Muang airport on Air Asia. (I believe Nok air and Thai Airways also fly domestically). You can fly to either Phuket or Krabi (I recommend Krabi because it is less touristy) once there look for a transfer desk and... See More
