Tips and reviews

Here's what Trippy members say about Cronulla Beach:

"Down south, places like Cronulla Beach are also fantastic, but as you can see from the map showing where all these are located, they're a long way apart."  See More

"One thing to understand about Sydney - all along the coast north and south there are beaches. Surfing is popular for obvious reasons, so finding a place that is not so crowded can be difficult. Here's my pick: 1. Heading north of the city: North Narrabeen Beach has consistent waves. Break: Point-break. Left direction. How to get there: Bus: Express buses from Wynyard Station, such as the L90 and L88 stop at North Narrabeen, and take about 45 minutes. Car: From the city, head north over the bridge or through the tunnel, and head towards the northern beaches by following the signs to Mosman and Manly. From Mosman head over the Spit Bridge and keep heading north until you reach Narrabeen. Turn right onto Ocean Street and follow it to Malcolm Street. Find a parking spot and walk to the beach. There is a parking area near the beach. Freshwater Beach is where surfing began in Australia and has pretty good waves. 2. South of the city: Coledale Beach is a decent surf beach - but it has a camping reserve right beside the beach! How to get there: The entrance to the camping reserve is off Lawrence Hargrave Drive. Car: Head south from the city down the Princes Highway. Take the exit to the Grand Pacific Drive, which becomes Lawrence Hargrave Drive. Train: There is a station at Coledale. Check the timetable at ."  See More
