"Some highlights in and around LA are The Grove and Farmers MarketLACMARunyon Canyon ParkGetty VillaMulholland Drive3rd Street PromenadeSanta Monica PierVenice Beach and BoardwalkMalibuZuma BeachMarina Del Rey, theme parks (Disneyland ParkUniversal Studios HollywoodSix Flags Magic Mountain)."  See More

"Hi, I would have to agree with Evi's suggestions! There are some that may overlap so bear with me: Venice Beach and Boardwalk- fun place to walk around and see the street performers and local vendors, muscle beach is there as well and sometimes they have entertaining competitions and such. This is definitely a day thing. Third Street Promenade - this is more of an evening thing if you want to see the street performers and get some shopping done along the way. It's a great place to people watch an walk around. The Grove While the selection of shopping isn't my favorite (which is good since you aren't looking to spend money), this is a fun place to people watch as well, you can pick a bench and grab an ice cream, participate in a free yoga class (or whatever is the class of the day - on the center lawn), you can hop on the trolley and ride to the other side of the mall to go to the Farmers Market which I'm sure will keep you entertained for a while. They have all kinds of food and things for sale. Hike any of the Hollywood HillsRunyon Canyon Park gives you a great view. The Griffith Observatory is a great place to see the city, you can walk around for free and take in the city, parking is also free! Taking a drive down Mulholland Drive offers free views of the city and a great drive. You can get tickets to see live tapings of your favorite shows. You can check out my answer to another Trippy member for details on how to order these tickets: "  See More

"Heading North, definitely take a stroll on the 3rd Street Promenade to catch a few live street shows (I can't promise they'll always be good, but if they're not they'll definitely give you a laugh), and the Santa Monica Pier--although super touristy, it's a SM staple and you can get some great photos of the coastline from the end of the pier--do it for the 'gram!"  See More

"The Santa Monica Pier and Palisades Park are nice places to walk, even if the pier is touristy."  See More

"Or the Santa Monica Pier (it's a little less hectic)."  See More

"Santa Monica - right by the water: Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica State Beach, Third Street Promenade (open air mall that leads to three streets that are lined with stores and filled with street performers)."  See More

"Santa Monica Pier is a fun neighborhood to hang out."  See More

"If you're into rides, there are a ton of amusement parks: there are smaller ones like the Santa Monica Pier or the more obvious Disneyland Park and Six Flags Magic Mountain."  See More
