"Unless you're a skier, then winter is the only time of the year NOT to come to Portland. All the other seasons are beautiful and Portland doesn't get as hot as Nevada, so bring a sweater or jacket because evenings can get chilly, even in the summer. I love staying in the downtown area just because it's so walkable. Peruse the shopping and restaurants near Portland SW 6th & Yamhill, walk down to Tom Mccall waterfront park portland OR and across the historic Hawthorne Bridge.
