Travel time from Birmingham to Salisbury

Hi, could someone please tell me the approximate travel time by car from Birmingham to Salisbury? We're trying to work out what places we can easily visit as a day trip.
Thanks!

I'll stick in my two pence and also suggest trying to see Avebury if you're in that area. In my opinion, it's a lot more thrilling than Stonehenge and well worth a trip.

The AA route-planner (www.theaa.com , under'Travel' tab) says 2 hours 35 mins. (I've always found this site remarkably accurate). It's a bit too far for a comfortable day-trip really (the timing doesn't really include the possibility/probability of traffic congestion, especially on the motorway) but not impossible.

As there's so much to see around Salisbury (Avebury, Stonehenge etc etc)and overnight stop might be worth considering.
