I would fly if there are flights between the two. There used to be flights from St. Croix - also Puerto Rico, but I haven't been in the area for quite a few years. Here's a good page about the ferry system... takes two hours, more or less, probably depending on the seas and weather.

Not that difficult to achieve. Ferries go from Red Hook Harbor to Cruz Bay. The trip is about an hour and a half, for50 bucks roundtrip.

My husband and I took a ferry over to the Westin in St. John and then went on Island Time to Virgin Gorda. Definitely recommend the trip and the Island Time crew was awesome. The reason we took the trip from st. john instead of st.thomas is that we had a coupon for a free ticket from the virgin island saver coupon book. We looked for a cheaper way to go from St. Thomas but couldn't find anything that compared.
