What is the best time to visit, between June and September, in terms of concerts and street markets?
Early June can be really nice, and it's typically just before they put the prices up for the summer season. Midsummer (around June 21st) is always special in the Baltics, as you will get very late nights and lots of parties. July and August are fine, but September is getting a bit cold. I think June is my favourite month up there.
We enjoyed 2 days in Vilnuis (weekend) around 8th Sept 2010, we were lucky the Sunday was a huge festival. The weather was beautiful. Photos on my page. Suggest you visit when a festival is on, the history and character of the festival was amazing.
Hi! We visited Vilnius for the first time in September 2012 for 7 days and came across the Nations Festival - song, dance, crafts, food and drink from Lithuania, Latvia, Poland etc - stalls set up around the city.
The weather was blue skies and sunshine but needed to wear a jacket in the daytime and a warm coat at night.
We thoroughly enjoyed it - pleasant enough temperatures to walk around and explore.
There are some festivals and events that take place in Vilnius every year. Most of them goes on May -June and then September. And you should count Trakai , too- it's not far from Vilnius and there's lots of events taking place at the historical castle.
Here is the site where you can find info about all the main events in area, so you can easier plan your trip:
