I'm planning a trip to South Korea for two weeks in late April. I'm planning to go to Seoul (Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Namdaemun Market, Korean Folk Village), DMZ Zone, Gyeongju (Tumuli Park, Gyeongju National Museum, Anapji Pond,Bunhwangsa, Bulguksa, Seokguram Grotto), and Jeju Do.
I have several questions.
Are there other cultural sights in Korea that I have missed on my list? If so, please make recommendations.
I want to stay in a hanbok. Does anyone have recommendations as to which hanbok to stay in? Some people say the hanboks in Seoul are not that traditional. Is that true?
I want to stay a few days in Bulguksa. Is that possible? If you, how do I book it?
How do I get to Gyeongju from Seoul?
Hi! This might be on short notice, but maybe someone is online anyway and knows something nice.
What can one do on a rainy monday in Seoul? Most of the museums we would like to see are closed, and we have had our fill of shopping, too... Do you know any good museums or shows or whatever (indoors) that is available on mondays?
Spending 7 days in Seoul. Any good same-day trip outside Seoul besides Panmunjon, the border town?
we are taking the coach from the airport to the Korean City Air Terminal and wondered if there was a shuttle bus to the Hotel Ibis Myeong-Dong.
How far is it between the above locations?
Hello all! wonderful questions and informative answers! hopefully you guys can help me as well. I thought I knew Seoul pretty well, but I guess not. I am flying in to GMP and I need to rent a cell phone. Usually I always use the KTF at ICN but they do not have a location at GMP. SKTelecom does but I personally do not like to use them. Has anyone rented from a location within the city limits? Is there a place within the city that will rent phones to foreigners?
Also, looking to get to Gwang Ju and Mok Po. Is KTX the most convenient way to get down there? Has anyone been down there and that can recommend things to do?
Thank you in advance!! =)
Hi! My boyfriend is getting transferred out to Seoul for at least a year, and I am moving with him. I am wondering if anyone has any advice about moving to seoul, finding a flat, visas, finding a job, meeting people, nightlife, clubs, etc. Thanks!!
Hi! I'm heading to Seoul in early December, and have found that the average temperature range is -5 to -10 Celcius. Coming from the Canadian Prairies, I'm used to cold, but was wondering - is it a dry cold or a wet cold (standard prairie humour is "it may be -40, but it's a dry cold." But there's something to it because I always freeze in Vancouver when it's +5 or below, but am toasty at -20 here at home.) Also, does anyone know if Friend's House Guest House has an e-mail? I've been trying to search for it, but to no avail. Thanks!
Hey everyone, I've noticed a bunch of us have responded to Sandra and offered to take her out for drinks. The poor girl isn't going to be able to stumble home on her own by the end! So, how about all of us closet VT members get together sometime during Sandra's visit and have a lovely VT dinner and/or drinking session somewhere generally centrally-located in Seoul? All interested parties, voice your opinion! Supernib.
