Is it safe to make purchases of electronic items at Vivocity mall? are the prices better than in the freeshop?
"Is it safe to make purchases of electronic items at Vivocity mall?" - Yes
"are the prices better than in the freeshop?" - duty free shop at the airport? I don't know.. what exactly are you looking for? airport sell limited stuffs.. anyway the airport is the last place I go to for electronics unless it is a last minute thing like camera flash memory card..
Most locals buys from major electronic stores like:
2. Best Denki
3. Harvey Norman
4. Gain City
In these places, the prices are fixed.
You can get better prices at other stores or may end up paying more depending on your knowledge of the product, prices and bargaining strategy. I wouldn't encourage that though.
As for myself, I normally buy my electronic stuff from the infamous Sim Lim Square. What I would normally do is to download the pricelist from stores there from hardwarezone.com.sg/priceLis..., look for the best price and head straight to the store and ask for the item, pay the price, collect the good and get out there. As mentioned earlier, you need to be knowledgeable about the product you are buying.
