what is most cost effective way to travel from coopenhagen -randers and from randers to groningen during june 30th-2011
For Copenhagen-Randers the cheapest is bus 888.
Trains are more frequent, but also more expensive.
Randers-Groningen: Take a bus or train from Randers to Aarhus where you can take a Eurolines bus (overnight - 1 daily departure) to Amsterdam and then a train from Amsterdam to Groningen.
From Copenhagen to Randers, I suggest you take the train. If you buy well in advance, you can usually get tickets quite cheap. The discounted tickets are called "DSB Orange". Book here: www.dsb.dk
Your alternative option would be to take Bus 888. Check fares and schedule here: abildskou.dk/use-the-bus-it-...
From Randers to Groningen is a little more complicated. You could take the train, but it will take you at least 10 hours, and inconvenience you with 4 changes of trains. Check schedules here: www.bahn.de
You could also take the bus from nearby Aarhus to Hamburg, and then on to Groningen, The schedules are not perfect, as you will need to leave Hamburg 5.45am, and the bus from Denmark arrives 5.15pm. So you have a 12 hour layover in Hamburg. However, Hamburg is not the dullest place in the world to spend 12 hours :-D
