Quedlinburg

Dilemma

We have time up our sleeves and wanted to know if it is worth seeing, we will be travelling from Berlin by train and I gather you have to get two trains to reach Quedlinberg. We would stay at least 1 night, can you give us some info and where we get off train from Berlin, etc.

I have never been there but I would love to visit myself, it is a spectacular place.

Quedlinburg has its own railway station, so that's where you have to get off. One change of trains in Magdeburg.

It takes three hours to get there by train but I have done many such day trips and there was always plenty of time to fully enjoy the visit and see all major sights and leave with great memories.

On Sa and Su there are also direct trains between Berlin and Quedlinburg. The Harz-Berlin-Express. Not a DB train, i.e. you don't buy tickets at the counter but on board.
harz-berlin-express.de/fahrp...
A return ticket for 2 is EUR 35,00.

otherwise:
DB timetable
reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/qu...
Start: Berlin
Destination: Quedlinburg

You may want to give however a more specific station/stop in Berlin. I.e. a train/S-Bahn/U-Bahn/tram/bus stop close to where you'll stay.
