Dear Travelers :)
If anyone could answer me on few questions..
Which coast of Corfu, Greece is better to visit?
I've never been there, but I'm trying to find a place with a sand bay (or at least pebble beach), sun shining and after 5-6 PM (I've red that in Nissaki for ex. sun is off after 4-5 PM...), and a possibility for snorkeling (some rocky places under the sea nearby).
Anyone knows such a place or closes to it? :D
Thanks in advanced,
Adriana from Serbia
We're marrying in Corfu in 2013. I'm searching the internet for a special place but have trouble finding something. I'm hoping for some insider advice here!
We came across lot's of package deals but we're searching for an restaurant which fits this description:
-Preference is do to in the north of Corfu
-olive tree in or around the restaurant. Olive tree garden would be the best
-small intimate restaurant that will fit 30 guests
- on a hilltop or view on nearby beach/sea and surrounded by lot's of green
Hi, we're going to Corfu next week and staying in a small villa in Kalami on the North-East coast. Can anyone tell me where to find a good supermarket between the airport and our destination so that we can pick up some supplies on the way. Any help would be much appreciated.
Is there any Diving locations - shops in Kerkyra (Corfu) or any of these place neear by Nafplion, Katakolon, Dubrovnik Croatia? We are on a curise ship and have 6-8 hours in these stops. Then onto Venice. Or any suggestions on other things to do in these Ports? THANKS
Hi me and my wife and 10 and 4 year old kids are going to ipsos on the 1/08/2011 could any one please let me know price of a pint of lager and cocktails for the wife [honest] and also the price of food and were is good to eat please.
We were just there, should have grabbed a business card. There is a local jeweler that creates unique and funky gold jewelry with precious and semi-precious stones. He owns a small little gallery with 3 other artists and the store has a very distinct orange interior on the North side of the street. There were 3 or 4 glass display boxes with rings and earrings and the rest were on the walls. It was very small store and the sidewalk in front was skinny. We walked west from V Dousmani but we were swisted in the streets. The gentleman speeks English and has a small daughter that was there that day, about 10-11 years old. My mother in law is kicking herself for not buying the ring she saw and I would like to surprise her for Christmas. Thanks for any hints you can provide.
We plan to ride on a ferry in Kerkyra on August 22.
Does anyone know where we can buy a ferry ticket from Kerkyra to Igoumenitsa?
We know several phone numbers, but these are not useful because we do not speak English well.
Thanks in advance.
Is english spoken widely in corfu? how hard is it going to be to communicate with the locals?
What places do you really like in Corfu? We would be 3 and looking for apartment or aparthotel type of thing near the beach that is a great value and not too expensive. Like 40-80 euros for an apartment for 3. or less?
thank you in advance for your recommendations.
Can anyone help us with obtaining a bus schedule for this trip? I understand that KTEL removed all of their schedules from their website recently.
If this info isn't available, what is the approximate RT taxi fare?
1) Are there ferries to Corfu from Venice, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi?
2) Are there any ferries from Corfu to Kefalonia?
Hi all, any ideas! We are arriving in may for a one day visit to Corfu. I see on the website for the cruise ship, that tours are offered for the Achilleion Palace. We are into walking/taxi/running/bus, whatever it takes. We avoid the trappings of the cruise shis tours. Any simple itineraries anyone can offer that are cheap! And include some interesting not touristy sights. Thanks to anyone who responds! Cheryl in Reno, NV USA
Hi I'm off to Dassia 10th October and heard that as its the grape harvest there could be a lot of wasps around. Can anyone please enlighten me on this? Thanks.

Hi, what do you think about beaches on Korfu in Ypsos resort? I heard that they are not very interesting - there is a noisy road near, the nicer are in Dasia. Is it far away just to go there everyday on foot?
Maybe you have some other suggestions?
We are looking to book a two week holiday in late August/early September to Corfu. We are unsure of a good area to look at staying. We don't want to stay in the really built up, pakage holiday areas where the beaches are crowded and it feels like Ibiza at night. We are just looking for an area with beautiful beaches, great cafes and restaurants and a few bars, and a good location for visiting the rest of the Island during the days, we'd like to visit corfu town. Any suggestions would be great...thanks
I was in Corfu many years ago and was amazed to see the place covered in fireflys which was such a pretty sight every evening

I've been to Corfu this summer and I like it so much that I'll go again last week in September with a friend. Considering we can't find any tourist agency who is taking care of transportation and accomodation that late in September, we'll have to go alone. We have booked bus ticket to Thessaloniki but we're not sure how to go to Corfu after that. Can somebody please let me know what's the best way to get to Corfu from Thessaloniki and how long the trip by bus can last? Does somebody have any idea how much could taxi cost from Corfu town to Agios Georgios (Argirades)? What's the weather like end of September / beggining October?
Thank you all in advance!

If no, approximately how much it costs to take taxi to there one way ?
I`m looking to go to Corfu this summer.
Came anyone please inform me as to which are the best beaches on the island?
I am looking for beaches with lovely blue water and not too noisey, and also with lovely sand.
Many thanks in advance,
Reading through the various articles I noticed that many are some years old and I think with the rapid changes they may be outdated. Has anybody recently (let's say in the last 12 months) done this excursion ? If so who can tell about additional costs (like visa ? or entrance fee like in Turkey? port taxes or what ever ?). I will spend some time in Corfu end of May/beginning June.
