Transportation from Mykonos to Kefalonia?

My boyfriend and I are planning to visit Santorini, Naxos, Mykonos and Kefalonia in mid-Jun 2010. However, it seems that we can only get to Kefalonia by flight/bus in Athens. The point is we are not really interested in Athens. Can anyone suggest the transportation to travel through those islands? We haven't booked the flight yet, as we are flying from UK, we could arrive at/depart from either Santorini, Mykonos or Kefalonia, doesn't have to be the same place for departure and arrival.

Have you checked the inter-island ferries?

First of all hello and glad forvisiting Greece! Cefalonia belongs to Ionian islands which is on the other side of Greece in Ionian Sea and unfortunately there's not connection between Aegean and Ionian islands. If you like to to go from Mykonos to Cefalonia you shoyld fly to Atherns or sail to Peiraius, then to take a bus or rail to Patras and from Patras to sail to Cephalonia and the same way back...

The bus + ferry from Athens to Kefalonia was supposed to be 6-7 hours, except that there was a sudden strike and we couldn't do it. You buy the combined ticket at the Athens bus station. We took instead a bus to Lefkada, and several days later a ferry to Kefalonia - and arrived at a place where there were no busses, everything took much longer than expected.

Kefalonia itself is worth a visit of several days, but it so out of the way of the three other islands, and connection between the Aegean islands takes time too. I would do these on separate trips. Check the flight prices from the UK to the different islands, and the flights inside Greece in the high tourist season.
