The road B3314 to Port Isaac was very narrow and windy. I'd rather drive on a slightly wider road as this was only about a car wide. Is there any way out of Port Isaac that is on a better road. (I have used Google maps and a paper map and asked people, but I really can't tell that any road out is better and people are a little vague)
Hi! I'm looking for recommendations on the best way to get from London Heathrow to Port Isaac.
We are visiting from the USA and will be staying in Port Isaac for a week. We arrive in London on Thursday,
May 27, and have a booking for a week in Port Isaac beginning the following day. It was suggested to me
by a friend that we avoid driving directly from London, and instead look for public transportation to somewhere,
possibly Bath, and stay the first night there, and renting a car from that point for the week. Any comments or suggestions?
Also, I know that my husband will be too tired after traveling to explore Bath very extensively in the short time we
will be there, so we were thinking, perhaps of traveling back through there for the following weekend. Would that
be a good idea, if anyone out there is familiar with the area? We are open to suggestions. We will end our trip in
London for the last few days, so basically we have 1 week in Cornwall, with Port Isaac as base, then another week from a Friday leaving Port Issac, to the following Thursday, departing from Heathrow. I would love any suggestions someone familiar with the trip could provide.
Does anyone know the filming schedule for the Doc Martin TV show for next year? Or care to hazard a guess based on a time frame based on what it has been in the past. I'm sure at some point I knew this information, but all I can find on-line is that one year they were finished by August. But my husband thinks they film in the winter or spring and are not there in the summer.
Also what is the off-season for this location?
I am trying to use the trip planner but after I go to a location, I can't find the "add to trip planner link" that I am suppose to click on to save the information. could someone give me a little help here?
Any hostels, campsites, cheap bed & breakfasts, or even just places where one can pitch a tent somewhere near here? I'll be backpacking through Cornwall this April and the Port Isaac area seemed a convenient place to spend the night between Tintagel and Padstow on the coastal path. I'm on a very tight budget and have no vehicle, only public transport and my own legs. Regards, Ken
