Camping at Lake Mahinerangi  (1 Answer)

My question is - My family and I are thinking of heading to Lake Mahinerangi at Xmas. We intend to take our boat and camp at one of the many inlets. Is this allowed? We are a responsible family consisting of Grandad and his daughter, her partner and her 11 year old son.

Is it possible to view the sealions and seals in the Catlins during the day in August, or do they go somewhere else in winter?
What about the penguins at Nugget Point and Oamaru?

Moving to Otago for three months  (4 Answers)

Hi, my friend and I are going to tge Otago/ Dunedin are for three months from beginning of July. We are Australian citizens so don't need a working visa, but can anyone please assist with websites to find accommodation or trustworthy recruitment agencies?

Also is it Dunedin in the Otago region or is the whe area Otago and Dunedin is like a suburb? Silly question I know but I'm confused!! Is it nice? We were thinking there because with the Uni the rent looks cheaper and it's not on a fault line! Plus it looks oh so pretty..

Otago Rail Trail  (2 Answers)

Gidday

Just looking at planning a cycle tour along the Otago Rail trail in April 2011, have found plenty of info on the rail itself but as we would be flying into Queenstown I trying to find away to get from Queenstown to Clyde, Im am not sure of the distance involved but have been told its about 80-90 klms, I have found some info that there is a bus service that runs but nothing more that, does anybody know of a service that picks up in Queenstown and drops off in Clyde and for the return Middlemarch back to Queenstown, we would be bringing our own bikes as luggage. Would have to return to Queenstown for return flight, whether we would have to go via Dunedin then onto Queenstown?

Many Thanks

Thommo

Parking at Elephant Rocks and Clay Cliffs  (7 Answers)

Hi, I'm visiting the Waitaki Valley beginning February and wondering if someone could advise us where to park our vehicle when visiting the Elephant Rocks near Duntroon and Clay Cliffs, Omarama?

I think the Rocks are closest to Island Cliff Duntroon Road, but not too sure what the parking arrangements are...

We'll be approaching the Clay Cliffs coming from Omarama Otematata Rd. At the T-junction, to we turn left towards Omarama Lindis Pass Rd or right towards Twizel Omarama Rd? And from there? Where do we park?

Also, is Sailor's Cutting, Lake Benmore, worth a visit?

Thanks.

Shipping extra luggage to NZ - options?  (2 Answers)

Hello,

I have couple of extra luggage bags that I need to ship to NZ. Can anyone offer suggestions as to which companies I should be looking at? I would prefer not to have to wait for a 3 month boat ride before luggage gets there but if that's the only cheap option I guess it will have to be it. Any experiences?

Thanks.
