Hi Folks - Im flying out solo from London to Bangkok and spending a week in Chanthaburi at the beginning of December, then i have another 4 weeks to see/tour Thailand. All the good intentions of planning seem not to have worked and i now find myself going in a couple of weeks and Iv not much of an idea of what or where to go...Aghhh!!....In a way Im not toooo bothered as i can 'wing'it with a lonely planet guide book but if anyone fancies meeting up as a travel companion i would enjoy the company - i want to trek/bike a little, get some sunshine and see culture and animals and eat locally in an easy going way visiting quieter areas. Any advice from fellow travellers much appreciated as iv not been here before and anyone doing the same-drop me an email.
I am planning to go from KK to Mae Sot at the Burma border at the beginning of november 2010. I believe that I have pass by Phitsalunok, does any one know about the timing of buses going from KK to Phitsalunok? I think that the buses running from KK to Chiang Mai pass by Phitsalunok. The only thing I am (allmost) sure is that the last bus leaving from Phitsalunok to Mae Sot is at 3 pm.
If somebody has some info regarding bus timetable or any other way to go there in one day please let me know , thanks alot, all infos are truely appreciated.

I'm planning a trip in a few weeks and I'm trying to figure out how hard it wold be to travel from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Ban Chan, Thailand. It looks like there is a highway (56 or 68) that runs up to the thai boarder at Dan or Ta Kien (which is close to where I want to go). Does anyone know if there is a boarder crossing in this area? Additionally, if anyone has any tips on the best way to travel from Siem Reap to this area I would really appreciate the help.
I've postponed my trip to June, but still, I only get few days. I'll arrive in BKK on 4th June in the morning (say, 8 or 9 AM), and leave BKK on 8th also in the morning at around 8. Tight timelime, isnt it? :-D
Now, as Ive narrowed down the choices, which one is d u think the most probable or better option?
A. BKK-Buriram-Phimai-Khorat-Phitsanulok (is there a direct bus from Khorat to Phitsanulok?) for Sukhotai-BKK
B. BKK-Sukhothai/Phitsanulok(by bus)- Buriram (if there's bus)- Phimai-BKK
I can see that Sukhothai will require an overnight stay, as it takes around 7hr from BKK. However, I hope it's possible to visit & explore Phanom Rung & Muang Tham from very early in the morning up to around lunch time before leaving for Phimai.Once at Phimai, it can be visited in the afternoon, then quickly take bus back to Khorat, connecting with bus to BKK.
Im not so sure about it, but maybe if there's bus connecting Buriram & Phitsanulok, i'd be a bit faster instead of going to BKK first.
Hope you can help me on this :-)
Will be visiting Mukdahan in April next, what is the best airport to fly to from BKK also any recommended hotels in Mukdahan or surrounding area Thanks
My girlfriend and I are traveling through Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in feb, and are stuck on one leg of our trip. We are trying to get from Vientiane to Siem Reap but we don't have the luxury of time or money. So we are wondering what is the quickest way that isn't too expensive. Bus? Or fly from one border to the other inside Thailand?

From there we went to a monkey training camp and a snake demonstration place.

What is the best way for a family to get from Khon Kaen to Udon Thani Airport. I'd like the least amount of hassle and the most direct way. I see that KK doesn't have taxis, but that would probably be the best way to go if they did. Also some idea of how much it might cost. Thanks very much.
I'm thinking of a Nov. Thailand trip in which I'd fly from BKK to Chiang Mai..then to Issan (maybe Udon Thani)...then to Phuket...
Can anyone suggest the best way to get from Chiang Mai to Udon Thani..or have a suggestion for a different trip itinerary that would make more sense?
Here's the tentative:
Nov. 9-14th (Bangkok)
Nov. 15-17th (Chiang Mai)
Nov. 18-20) (Udon Thani/Issan)..have just never been to Issan
Nov. 21-24 (Phuket)...I guess I'd have to fly to BKK first?
Nov. 25 -26..Bangkok and fly back to USA
I guess Im not sure which airlines fly where or if it's worth it to change the order of visiting here, etc..
