I just moved to New Ross and and I don't know much about.
Anyone know a pub or something where I could find a job? I'm a little bit lost.
Best thing you can do is take yourself for some walkabouts and get to know your surroundings. On the map, New Ross doesn't look so large as to not be easily explored on foot.
You may also want to spend some time with the business listings on the Chamber of Commerce website:
And avail yourself of the Community Employment Scheme:
Local newspapers may also have some employment listings.
Thank you very much. :)
You're very welcome. :)
Have fun getting to know your new 'home', and good luck with the job hunt!
You may have to widen your scope to include Waterford? possibly Wexford. Are you Irish, EU or other? as Irish or EU have you contacted welfare offices, have you registered with FAS. The best option is usually the local press.
I'm French. And no I have not contacted, I don't know what it is.
Have sent a message which may help.
First of all you need to go and register at your local Employment Exchange where you should be able to find out if you are entitled to any payment while you are looking for work. They should also be able to advise about jobs that are available or courses that you can do in the meantime. You could also leave your CV in pubs, hotels and shops in the hope that if any jobs come up they can call you for interview. New Ross is quite small as already mentioned above so you should be able to make contacts and build up a network so that locals know your skills and that you are looking for work. You could also do volunteer work in charity shops (like Oxfam) just to get to know people find out what is available in the community until you find paid employment.
