We are planning a 4 week round trip. We want to see Mount Rushmore and the St. Louis Arch. What else on the route is best to see? What is the best route?
We will be visiting the USA ( travelling from Abu Dhabi) along with my family sometime in Aug 2016. We are a total of 5 adults & two small kids aged 1.4 yrs & 4 yrs.
My question is we are planning on hiring a big car & driving from Newark to Ohio & stopping over night at Pittsburgh.
The problem is the luggage!
We will be having around 8 suitcases total & hand luggage ...where do we keep all of that!?? I can't seem to find a car big enough to rent to fit us all & the bags! Flights is not an option & only my husband drives...
Do any of you have any suggestions as to what can be done?
I was wondering if v could hire one of those luggage trailers to attach to the car & put our luggage in that Ref pic attached...Any idea where we can hire one for cheap?
Would really appreciate your answers. Thanks in advance!
Hi, we are in Manhattan over the Easter weekend and my son is a mad American Football fan, so we are hoping to do a stadium tour of the Met Life Stadium, does anyone have any ideas for places to eat for lunch or dinner, and whilst we are over in NJ is there anything else worth checking out?
Is January's a difficult time to spend 3 or 4 days in Lourdes France?
Since the trip to Paterson Falls might be too long, what else do you suggest? I have all day Saturday and I am staying at the Ramada Plaza near the airport.
I will be staying in Newark near the airport and I would like to take a trip to Paterson Great Falls Park. Can anyone tell me how I would do this by public transportation?
I book a flight from Atlanta to Rome when I was living in the Atlanta area. I've moved, so I've now had to book a flight from my new home to Atlanta. I tried changing the original ticket; it would cost me $600. I'm flying to Atlanta the day before, to err on the side of caution -- as I cannot miss the flight to Rome. I will have 3 bags; what in the heck can I do with those bags so that I'm not carrying them to the hotel for one night then back to the Atlanta Airport the next day? Help! :)
I'll be staying in Paris in August. Address is Rue Gabrielle, 18. Sacré Coeur- Montmartre
Paris, 75018. Atelier Pablo Picasso Studio.
Is that a safe place to stay? I'll be with my parents and my two kids.
I will be visiting NY next April (from Argentina) and I would like to go see some places in NJ.
The plan is Red Bank (just to visit JBJ's Soul Kitchen...unless you got some other place to recommend?) Asbury Park (I'm wondering if it's "visitable" right now? How is the restoration work going? Is there anything left to see?) and Atlantic City (Same as AP...I don't really know how damaged this area is...is it worth visiting?)
Also, could anyone tell me how to get to this places (no car) from NY? Is there a train? A bus? I've hear the railroads have suffered severe damage... A friend was there 2 months ago and told me the train from NY took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Red Bank. Is it working now? Normally?
Finally, in what order should I visit this cities? I suppose NY-RB-AP-AC-NY?? If I leave NY early in the morning, would the day be enough to visit all those places?
Thanks in advance for your help and I'm sorry my english isn't that good.

Returning from York, PA to Maine in September, we were hoping to stop in NJ to visit Carlo's Bakery because my girls LOVE watching his show. While in Hoboken, I was thinking that maybe we could take a ferry over to NYC so they could get a glimpse of the city. This would end up being an all day affair so we would need to spend the night somewhere, preferably outside of Hoboken so it wouldn't be so expensive. Any recommendations of where we could stay? It would be me, my husband and 4 kids 11-16 in age. Oh, and my husband won't stay in a "dive". :)
Flying into ewr friday evening with two kids and 4 pieces of luggage. Train would be too tiring with luggage and kids. Any idea on cost of taxi ride from ewr to metuchen, nj.
Are there any flat rate taxi companies that service ewr airport.
I'm flying from California to New Jersey (tentative plans) on Sept. 13th.
Should I reconsider? I hear there is another hurricane coming, there's flooding and a storm (not worried about a storm).
Any New Jersey folks out there with information? Please help!
Thanks in advance.
I will be driving this weekend from NJ to Toronto. I have a car which is registered in NJ and has a valid inspection sticker till Jan 2013. My NJ driver's license is also valid till July this year. Will I be needing any other document/requirement for the car at the border control with Canada? I am an Indian national and have already obtained a valid visa to Canada. Please let me know if there are any special requirements which the car should meet or any other mechanical/emmission checks which may be needed to be done at the border.
Thanks a lot!

Ridgewood is located in northern NJ and NJ Transit () makes
Ridgewood very accessible (even from NYC). If you arrive at Ridgewood train station the restaurant is one block down Ridgewood Ave. or Franklin Ave (between the two).

Hope to see you there!
Arriving at Newark airport and renting a car for a week of sightseeing and returning via Newark. Looking for a relatively safe place to stay the first couple of nights that is some distance from the airport in order to save about half of the car rental cost.
Sorry but us westcoasters attain all of our knowledge about NJ from the Sopranos and Jersey Shore which unfortunately makes me nervous about where to stay.
Thanks for your patience.
I am planning for a trip to Miami, Florida in the first week of August. So, I am seeking a travelling companion, PlZ email me if any abody planning for the same destination.
Hello, I'm going on a business trip to East Hanover. Doesn't sound too exciting but I will have a couple of extra days to spend. I know that NYC isn't too far but what else is there that would be a "must do"? I do love to shop which is definitely one of the things I want to do but would also like to sight see a bit. Might rent a car, thinking I'll have a couple of days, maybe 3. I heard there is a great shopping mall somewhere out of NYC but can't remember the name of it, thinking it would be convenient to go from East Hanover. Other shopping possibilities that could be combined with sight seeing? Thanks much for your feedback. I love this forum, people are great here and always so helpful. Tira
I grew up in Monmouth County, NJ and always did daytrips to the shore. I am planning a week at the beach w/my family and am looking for a beach where we can rent direct oceanfront home/condo. My parents visited LBI last week and loved it but..."oceanfront" is not ocean view. The dunes obscure the ocean, and we love to wake up in the morning and see the water.
My parents are visiting Ocean City this week, but I'm leary of the dry town status. Not that we drink a lot out on the town, but I'd like to have a drink when we go out to dinner, etc.
Any suggestions for nice beaches that rent oceanfront homes/condos with a view? Thanks in advance for any replies!
what is the easiest way to get from hoboken to six flags
Taking the red eye from LAX to Newark on Friday night, arriving early Saturday morning. The Amtrak would cost 69 bux a person for an hour and 4 minutes of train travel! That is more expensive than even the German ICE trains! Needless to say, that is prohibitively expensive and we need to find another way. Hell, for an hour's drive we could probably take a taxi for 100 bucks. I checked on greyhound but couldn't find anything from the airport. Can you guys help please?
Can anyone suggest a nice family friendly campground not far from the Jersey shore. I think the furthest south we are thinking is tom's river or seaside hieghts..thanks!
planning to take a trip to six flags in nj, just wondering what else is close by and fun for a family with two kids (6 & 13)!!!!!
Hi again from N.Ireland,
Thanks everyone for your previous tips. We plan to stay in a beach resort above Atlantic City. There are so many websites my head is spinning. We would like to stay somewhere which would suit the kids 11 and 15 for a few days to recharge the batteries after DC.
If there was a particular Hotel/Motel/Resort that could be recommended, that would be great. They love an outdoor pool.
How do I reach Liberty state park from Maple Shade. I am staying with relatives and wont have access to a car.
Is there a train that I could take from Philly to get to the Jersey Gardens? If there is a connection like a bus or shuttle after the train, that would be alright too. Thanks
I'm looking at flying from Toronto into Newark, and then taking the train to Philadelphia. I'll have done US customs at the Toronto airport, so will just have to pick up a suitcase (its just a small DH-8 plane). If my flight gets in at 3:15pm will I have time to catch the 4:30pm train from the EWR train station?
Price wise with flight & train it is about the same or less to fly to Newark then to fly directly to Philadelphia, and flying out of Toronto Island airport, my costs are even less than Toronto Pearson airport - and the time isn't much different, if you're wondering why I'm looking at this journey - besides, it allows me to see a bit of from the train.
Me and a friend are trying to figure out how to get to the New York Penn Station from our current location in North Jersey (Sussex). Do we go to the Dover Train Station and take a train straight to NY Penn Station?
We have never done this before, pretty much new to this whole thing, we never left NJ, and we really want to break down the walls and go out to NYC for a bit.
Staying at the Hyatt on the Hudson, Jersey City and wondered approx. what the cab fare is from Newark Airport to Jersey City.?
I think its easy to get there from Newark airport using the Path train.
Am I correct in this.??
We are arriving at Newark in the afternoon on 18 June (from UK), picking up a hire car and heading up to New England for a couple of weeks. We're landing about 15.00 and I guess it will be at least 16.00 - 16.30 time we leave the airport. I am unsure how busy the roads are going to be and how far to try to get on the first day (I think we going to be tired). Can anyone recommend anywhere (motel) decent to stay on the first night a little away from Newark and heading in the right direction or any advice at all on the journey to New England (we'll probably head for Mystic/Newport, CT area first).
