Hi. I am moving to NH from CT on a work relocation. My office will be at Keane, NH and I would like to know if there Re Ride shares or daily trains from Nashua, NH to Keene, NH.

Is there a suggestion on where can I move in with my family if my office is in Keene, NH?

Thanks...

Where to stay in New Hampshire??  (2 Answers)

I'll be traveling to New Hampshire at the end of May for 2 nights with my cousin. We are females in our late 20's and would like to be central in vibrant area. We're trying to figure out which city has the most sightseeing and eateries in a walkable area with cheaper lodging options. Also, somewhere with decent public transportation so we can easily get to an airport at the end of our stay and possibly visit other nearby cities. Any suggestions??

Planning Fall Trip Early  (5 Answers)

September in New Hampshire  (2 Answers)

I would like to know what the most scenic route would be driving from Woodstock VT to Mt. Washington NH. Plan to site see, visit Mt. Washington and spend the night close by in one day. Also should we drive up the mountain or take the cog railway? And spend the night in Gorham NH or Bethel ME? Modest accommodations, good value.

Mount Washington Hotel - Early December  (3 Answers)

I will be staying at the Mount Washington Hotel the first week in December. Hopefully the weather will be good and we can do some small hikes. Can anyone suggest hikes in the area that may have waterfalls or something of interest? How about some other outdoor activities in the area...we are not skiers though. How about some other restaurants in the area? Thank you.

B&B for New Years with great dinner?

Folks,

After spending a wonderful New Years Eve last winter at a B & B in Woodstock, VT (Lincoln Inn at Covered Bridge) which serves an optional great dinner, we are looking to repeat that experience this year.

Any recommendations for a moderately priced B &B or INN with a great dinner available?

Thanks in advance.

Cabins and swimming in New Hampshire

My husband and I are planning a 4 night 3 day stay at New Hampshire. We would like to do some moderate hiking in the White Mountains area, but would like to find some good lakes/waterfalls to swim.

Any recommendations on rustic cabins (cheap/scenic, preferably!) to stay in and good hiking spots would be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward o New Hampshire/Vermont in 9 days  (5 Answers)

We are leaving for a last-minute, first-time trip to New Hampshire and Vermont next week. We'll fly into Manchester and have 5 days and 4 nights. We'd like to see as much as possible and hope to make a circuitous drive, up toward the northern border. We're interested in seeing the highlights of landscape, classic New England towns, moose, and the mountains, and plan to stay in a different town each night. Any recommendations would be appreciated, and for Mar. 29--Apr. 2, am I right to assume we'll need 4-wheel drive?

new to Franconia Ridge Trail  (1 Answer)

We are planning a trip to New Hampshire next summer. The Franconia Ridge Trail looks stunning....I've heard that it's really steep to get up and down. How dangerous is it....do you have to climb large sheets of rock that are thousands of feet in the air and fatal? or is it just steep, but not extremely dangerous? I would love to hike this trail, but will pick an easier one if this one is too dangerous. It seems like if lots of people hike it, then it's probably ok.

My friends and I are planning to go to White Mountains next weekend to see the foliage, but I remember reading somewhere that there is a specific time that I can see the foliage (like late October or something), but I don't know when.

Thanks a lot and best regards,

Serious hiking in White Mtns - Mt Washington  (3 Answers)

We are visiting the Mt Washington area of the White Mtns for a couple of nights camping at the end of June as part of a tour of New England and would like to do a really good hike in the area. We are very fit, experienced walkers with a lot of mountaineering experience.

We want to do an interesting, decent length walk of anything from 10 - 20 miles (day hike) and preferably gain some height (a summit). Can anyone recommend a really good hike?

Also be interested in any recommendations for nice quite, scenic campsite (pref rustic to over developed or commercialised sites).

Many thanks,

Sam from England

Mount Washington driving tips  (5 Answers)

Last year I drove to Franconia, Lincoln, Conway enjoying the Kancagamus highway foliage route. Thanks for some of you who provided the tips.

This time, I am planning to drive to MOunt Washington. If I see the information available in web, it is a kind of scary. Please let me know whether there is any chance of missing direction or getting into trouble. Once I reach the top of Mount Washington, what is there to see? And in a auto gear car, do I need to travel in a lower gear (D3) instead of normal drive (D).

Hiking off K Hwy  (1 Answer)

Hi everyone,
I am going hiking in a couple of weeks in NH and I am trying to find a place I went when I was little. I remember my parents would take me to Lincoln. We would drive not too far down the K hwy and park. We would stay right on a path, along the riverside and walk for about 2 miles until we came upon platforms for tents. A little further down there are water falls in wich my dad would hold my hands and I would sit inside the carved rock. The water would shoot me out into a pool. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

Lake of the Clouds Hut  (3 Answers)

I am planning a trip to New Hampshire primarily to hike up Mount Washington. I had heard that you can stay overnight in Lake of the Clouds hut and was wondering if anybody here has done that before. Is it first come first serve? Cook your own meals? Any advice would be appreciated.

I was near Mt. Washington last spring for a conference. I had hiked to just below the hut, but had to turn back due to thick ice still remaining on the path and slopes and not wanting to take a bad fall. I am looking forward to returning.

If the hike goes well and is not delayed by weather, I may have 1 to 2 additional days. Can you recommend other good hikes or mountain biking routes or whitewater rafting? And could you recommend a place to camp near Mount Washington? Thanks.
