Planning to be in Las Vegas for NYE. With the closing of Circus Circus KOA at the end of October, 2014, is there any recommendation for any RV parks that is not too far from the strip. We will not have a car so will be taking the bus to the strip. Thanks.
We are driving from Las Vegas to Cedar City. I want to know if there are any interesting places to stop at, visit, or see on the road there.
Brutal Ontario winter last year & don't want to do it again... where is the best bang for our (Canadian) buck in the SouthWest? Husband is an avid cyclist (road bike) & we like mild/moderate hiking. Considering Jan-March.
First planned on driving to Carson City via L.V. and Hwy 95. According to answer I received, it sounds pretty bleak. Is there a better route to take to C.C. from L.V.? Maybe go via Calif?
Any suggestions about RV parks, places to eat etc. while driving through Nevada on Hwy 95? We plan
on leaving home the end of June to visit our daughter's new home in Carson City (via Las Vegas)--a total
or some 700 miles from our home in Surprise, which means 2 days driving for us. Any suggestions very welcomed.
Are there any apartment building to avoid?. I will be taking a large term apartment sight unseen. Need to know what to avoid
Hi! I would like to know how can I travel from The Strip to Rainbow Blvd and from there to Main St and how long will it take?
Thank you so much!
I have been looking at various VT web pages for Valley of Fire State Park. It looks like just the sort of place I would love, so I am planning on visiting the state park, possibly this year or the next. We would probably go in February, but may also choose March or April. We enjoy hiking, but as we get older we find that knees (me) and feet (hubby) can sometimes be an issue. We would do best with 4-miles or less hikes, rated up to moderately difficult. I should also comment that the last time I dragged my husband on a hike that involved a narrow trail, with a drop off on one side, he did not enjoy it, as his balance isn't what it use to be, so unless I do these alone, we would probably avoid hikes like that. We do not like to be rushed when we travel, so we do not like to try to cram everything possible into a day. Keeping these issues in mind, how much time could we fill up in the park? Would one or two weeks be too long? I may want to look for one or two other places to visit, as we would probably plan to travel for a month (including coming and going from Wyoming).
I know Area 51 is in Nevada. I like to go there some day but what is the best way ? Drive car or is there a private tour ? Sorry for asking as I am from Malaysia.
Could I use an used Annual Pass for US National Parks with out any restriction, when there is a free place for one subscriber on a Pass (3 Persons). I am from Europe.
I was hoping any of you can give me some light on the following shows. I have chance of getting a ticket for any of these shows, but I frankly don´t know anything about them.

I am from Costa Rica, so I am not very familiar with shows or anything like it. We are all adults, so no need for shows suitable for children.
Thanks for your help!
I have used my brazilian driver's license in the USA before but never in Las Vegas. I have a reservation for a rented car in one month from now and I don't really see why my driver's license should not be accepted. But my girlfriend was asking about this in a driving school here in Brazil and the answer she received was that, YES, she needed an international driver's license which costs some U$ 200. This, of course, is BS, I sent emails to the car rental company and the booking source and am awaiting their answers. And to be perfectly safe, I'm asking the same question to my VT friends here.
Do I need an international driver's license or is my brazilian driver's license just enough when I step up to the counter of the rental company at MacCarran Airport ? I.e., could one State (NV) have different rules than another, do all rental companies have the same policies re driver's licenses of foreigners ?
Greetz and thanks for your answers.
Looking at doing a 5 or 7 day rafting trip on the Colorado River that is one of the luxury trips for wife and I. Have any of you done one of these and what should we know and what are the best sites to find information? Also do any of you know of any message boards or forums about these types of trips where I could find out a plethora of information as I am quite the planner and like to do as much research as possible before booking a trip? thanks for the help.
Driving from S. Lake Tahoe to Boise, ID on or around 25 June. Not sure whether to just make one big day of it and get the mileage done (journey is part of a three week fly drive out of SFO and extending to Boise and the Sawtooth OR to break the journey and if so where? Winnemucca looks to be the obvious midway point but I would love if anyone could offer advice opinions!
We are 2 Swiss students (age 20) travelling to the USA this summer.
We are not able to find a car rental agency that will rent a car to persons under age 21. We need just a basic car for about 1 1/2 months, out of Las Vegas.
Does anybody know a solution for this problem?
Thanks for any feedback
Please tell me if there is organized camping in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Organized as opposed to wild. Meaning to me there are showers, cooking facilities, safe storage, etc. Thanks.
We're thinking of camping at the Valley of Fire SP nr Vegas on 3rd July, our way to St George, UT. We'll be on a road trip. Just a bit worried that as the SP doesn't take camping reservations it might fill up on the holiday weekend. Anyone any idea how busy it might be and if we find it full what alternatives there are nearby?
I will be flying into Las Vegas at the beginning of November and would like to spend 3 nights staying out of town preferably in or near a native american reservation where we can learn more about their culture and history as my wife is very interested in this. Can anyone suggest anything near the Grand Canyon so we can see that as well.
Would like to be a part of this year's festival. Any suggestions on planning, preparing for this event would be appreciated, i.e., tenting vs renting an RV,get tickets online or buy them there? Depart from Vancouver, BC. Thanks!

There are 3 of us treavelling from England to California for 2 weeks. On the second week we'll be moving from San Fransisco to Yosemite, where we will stop for a day and then on to Death Valley. We'll be leaving first thing to get there early. What features in death valley are best to see to cram into one days adventure. Also - I'd personally like to see the stars set over Death Valley to see the milky way, etc. and so (saving sleeping in the car as a very last resort), is there somewhere to stay in the heart of death valley to see this. Ideally somewhere reasonably comfortable if possible cause then we're off to Vegas.
Hi. We are travelling up to Vegas for 2-3 nights in July and we have 2 boys age 5 and 9, we would like to stay somewhere that has good facilities for kids and away from the strip but not that far away. Both of these resorts have great reviews on Tripadvisor and so I am really confused - can anyone please recommend which they think would be most suitable or is there really little difference? Many thanks.
We are planning to spend about 1-1/2 days driving out of Las Vegas to the Valley of Fire, then down to the dam.
Is this a reasonable amount of time to see all of it?
Any recomandations for lodging along the way, or should we loop back to Vegas?
Is the Hoover Dam Museum worth visiting?
Answers to these, and any advice in general is much appreciated.
So I guess no one is going to the wonderful interstate town of Wells, Nevada soon. I live 150 miles north of Wells and felt the earthquake up here in Sun Valley, Idaho. Guess it gave the desert folk some excitment.
We are family with kids traveling west across Nevada in July. We will be visiting Great Basin midday and looking to stop afterward in the area of Ely. Can anyone suggest family-friendly accomodations? Thanks!
I'm a car nut, just moved to West Wendover, and my friends were amazed that I missed the Auto Show in Wells. And further amazed that I didn't know about the "big to-do" in Reno, "Hot August Nights.!" Please tell me what to do, where to go, to stay, to eat and how to have the most fun...not get lost, show my car, sell it, auction it, buy something.... Remember, it's the obvious that screws everything up. Who do you recommend to detail my car, cut my hair, groom my dog, fish & sightsee.... Many thanks!

Where have you stayed? What did you like?
We will be coming from a day in Great Basin and heading out to Truckee, CA the next day. Travel is July 2008.
Hi - we're planning our annual US road trip and are this year thinking of flying into Vegas, spending a few nights in Death Valley & then mooching up to Portland and back down again. Can anyone suggest a good loop route for this trip? We would want to take in a bit of the coast & as much varied scenary as possible. Trip lenght would be two weeks and we'd be travelling in early May. Weather advice would also be appreciated!
