Hi, What's the best way to get from the International airport to the domestic one?
Is there any free shuttle?
Yes, there is a free shuttle for transit passengers. Be warned that using it can be very slow--it only runs every 30 minutes and there are a lot of people who want to get on, so you might have to wait in line for more than 30 minutes. It is a lot faster to take a prepaid taxi from one terminal to the other, although it is aggravating to have to pay.
How far apart are the two? Is walking an option??
No, walking is not an option. They are quite far apart. Sorry!
These airports are little far from each other..walking will not help.. And shuttle service between two airports operates every 30 minutes as said above but the bus operator will wait till that shuttle bus gets filled up completely, then only he will leave no matter whatever emergency or connecting flight you have to catch.. so at the end if you have sufficient time in between of flights then you can wait for shuttle service.if not then in that case once you finish you immigration formalities you will find taxi booking counter BEFORE LEAVING EXIT DOOR( this to avoid getting cheated by taxi drivers) book your taxi on these counters only and once you go outside you will find taxis they may charge you around 150-200 Rs. now.. And taxi ride will take maximum 15mins max..
I'd definitely recommend taking a pre-paid taxi. Be sure to get the pre-paid or there is a good chance you will get ripped off.
its just a ten minutes drive...between both the airports..there are 3 wheeler rickshaws which would hardly cost you less then 2 dollars..even for cabs is easy to get
Unfortunately the rickshaws are likely to rip you off. I've had guests that were forced to pay $20 to travel between the 2 airports.
