I've been looking over the MV website and see that there are quite a few tour companies offering guided tours (1/2 day is what we want) through the valley. We prefer a vehicle tour over the horseback and hiking tours. Can anyone recommend one company over the other? We'll be driving in from the Grand Canyon and arriving around noon (in april), and we'll be staying at the new View Hotel. We'd like to take either a later afternoon tour or a early morning tour, and want to include the interesting sites such as the Ear of the Wind (?) and other arches etc. We're looking for the "Best Value" tours for 2 adults 1 18yr old?
We have not taken a guided tour preferring to drive ourselves around. But in all the reading and "listening" on various travel forums the only name that commonly shows up is the Gouldings Lodge tour.
Otherwise I think it is pretty generic as to who you get and what they offer.
Thank you for traveling to our beautiful part of the U.S. we appreciate your visit!
As you stated, there's lots of different tour operators at Monument Valley and most are very good. Three of the best: Gouldings, Simpson's Trailhandlers and Roy Blacks Jeep tours. You will not go wrong with any of these operators as they are tops at what they do! Enjoy your visit!
