thank you !!
As far as I know from the French travel sites (routard.com and voyageforum.com) that I search from time to time, having done the trip in a vehicle three times, you still cannot get the visa at the border, since November 2009. Easiest is in Rabat, far cheaper than getting it in Paris.
Also remember that since November there is a supposed curfew on the road to Nouakchott at 17h00. Plus the is closed at about 18h00 on the Mauritanian side. So if you get through in the afternoon, knowing tht the Moroccan side is closed between 13h00 and 15h00 it means a stop either in Boulanoir or Nouadhibou. If you want more specifics send me a mail here on VT.
Thats interesting I got my Mauritanian visa at the border back in December 2007.
Very interesting, I got one in November 2007 AND January 2009, but since then you can't. The info I gave dates from this year(2010) not Dec. 2007.
How long does Mauritania Visa take to process in Rabat ?
At last news I had, if you're there at 9 in the morning good chance of getting it back the same day, if not the next.
I just crossed the border on November 5th, 2010 from Morocco to Mauritania. It is not possible to get visa and they will not stamp your passport without one. I watched two Brits get rejected and met a guy in Rabat who had to come all the way back from the border.
so did I but I was refused a visa at the border in 2010
If you read up the other responses the visa at the border stopped in I believe November 2009, so it was normal that you didn't get one in 2010.
