I'm planning to kayak the Amazon. I have around 45 days.
I'm in the early stages of planning.
I'm looking to start in Manaus and head East to the Atlantic.
Does anyone know of a place to buy or hire a kayak in Manaus?
I'm open to any suggestions anyone may have regards independent travel along the Amazon. As I say I am in the early stages of planning.
Any hiking trails? Routes? Or helpful info?
We will be in Manaus, Brazil on February 11-14th and wondering if anyone knows about carnival events there, and perhaps in Santerem as well as we will be there a couple of days earlier
I am seeking a general or ballpark time frame on how many days would be needed to get acclimated to and see the major sites of Manaus in April 2009.
I have only done some preliminary checking so far and most "attractions" seem to up to 100 km away which leads me to think that perhaps at least 3 days would be needed to see the major highlights.
Any feedback appreciated.
Has anyone daone or have any info on flights from Manaus in Brazil to Quito or any other city in Ecuador. Having trouble finding any info on it. Any help greatly appreciated,
