I am planning a one month trip to Managua to study Spanish. I am interested in renting a house that I found on Airbnb. The house is located in Barrio Riguero (as far as I can see from the map) and specifically at the corner of Pista Juan Pablo II and Boulevard Don Bosco. I'd love some info on this area, specifically safety concerns, walkability and things to do (shopping and restaurants). Regarding the safety question, I've travelled all over Central America and am a very prudent traveller (no walking alone after dark, no carrying of valuables, no dressing 'flashy' etc.) so I know the risks and I'm not looking for small town North America safe - just making sure I haven't chosen an area that's relatively bad.
Thank you so much in advance,
One of my closest friends just arrived to Managua last night. He's a 38 year old urban traveler staying in the entertainment district (Hotel Internacional). Do you have any suggestions for nearby places to visit during the day and any tips on Nicaragua's nightlife?
