Has anyone taken a trip to Machu Picchu using Road Scholar? I am thinking of taking one of their trips, but want to know the quality of their trips.
I haven't been there with them, but good friends of mine have and loved it. I have taken a number of other trips with Road Scholar, and they are excellent. I've never had a bad trip with them. They are fro travelers over 55. The emphasis on their trips is education. Most of my travels with them have included a few classroom-type lectures by local college professors or other experts.
My wife and I just returned from a Roadscholar (formerly elderhostel) tour of the Galapagos and Machu Picchu. It was our first group tour ever, and we found it excellent. They had excellent guides, and booked us in very nice accomodations, and we found the group to be great. Ages ranged from about 60-75.
