What about beach and parties? Which is the best beach? And the best clubs?

Which are the best clubs? Is there anything else to visit besides Hollywood?

Buller's Beach Party would be on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago. Beach parties don't start until after Memorial Day in Chicago.

There is the Getty Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena (and old town Pasadena), the Huntington Garden and Museum, the Brea Tar Pits, the Natural History Museum beside the LACMA which is world class. LA has shopping, beaches like Venice, Malibu and Huntington; theme parks like Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Studios. There is an observatory, a couple botanic gardens, horse racing, two California Missions; Olvera Street and a State Park celebrating LAs Hispanic heritage; fantastic architecture like the Disney Concert Hall by Gehry . . .

There is so much to do in Los Angeles the problem is what to skip.

Type Los Angeles into the VT Search Window above and visit the VT LA Travel Pages to see all the things I've mentioned with photos, reviews and external web links to help you decide what to do.

BTW, if you would put your travel interests on your Home Page here on VT, we could give you quicker answers that might be more appealing. Just a thought . . .

Enjoy LA

I think the best beach depends on what you want to do - just lie out and get some sun? Enjoy the natural aspects of the beach, or have some fun. For pure fun, I think Santa Monica is probably the best. The pier offers a lot to see and do as well as the sand and, from the road above, some nice views. Enjoying the natural aspects, the best would probably be in Malibu and between Malibu and Oxnard. If you just want to lie out and soak up the rays, again, I think Santa Monica would be best as far as ease to get to plus there's the added benefit of, after you're done, you're close to all the shops and restaurants of 3rd St Promenade that you can go visit.
