Is there any information at this time about how the extreme cold this winter may affect the timing of the tulip blossoms? We are hoping to visit about the 12th and 13th of April. If the tulips are not ready, would we expect something else worth seeing at Keukenhof?
They will be ready.
Before that cold period, the first got out and some got some frost damage, but I just maintained my garden and they are growing like crazy again.
BTW At the Keukenhof there also are a lot of indoor garden displays and they ame at one kind blossomming for each week the gardens are open.
For tulips: there are so-called early- and late blossoming tulip kinds.
Keukenhof will be interesting enough.
Thank you. However, we are particularly interested in photographing the bulb fields.
Pieter Jan V 's repoy is exactly what we need to know. Thank you so much.
In my opinion it is a little bit early for the bulbfields itself (especially tulips are often later - end of April - blossoming).
Hi,i'm planning to visit lisse this 5th to 9th may 2013..Are the flower fields still there or the flowers are already been harvested?
There will be tulips left. The farmers will not let them blossom all in the same week. There are different kind of tulips and each kind blossoms at its own pace,
If possible I would recommend visiting 1 week earlier.
End of April/early May is high-season for the tulips. If you come later there will be (much) less flowers left on the fields.
thanks for the answers guys. i wish i could come earlier and i'm going to skip classesss. thats the only holiday.dear farmer, pls wait for me,dont pluck ur tulips yet lol
