Hi, we are catching the train from the UK arriving in Florence early in the morning on a Saturday towards the end of May. There will be 6 of us including 2 children. I have hired a house near Lastra a Signa, near Florence. We will want to take trips to Florence and also to Pisa, as well as exploring the local area. I know there is a train station in Signa, but we are nearer to the village of Malmantile apparantly.
I wondered if anyone could advise me:
- What is the best way of getting from the station Firenze Campo Di Marte when we first arrive (with our bags!!!) to our house? I understand driving around Florence is not that easy.....
- Is there a car hire place in Lastra a Signa where we can get a car for at least part of our our stay if we need to?
- Or is it easier/better to manage without a car and take taxi's (is this possible?) to and from the local station when we need to?
I would appreciate any views and advice, and also anything anyone can tell me about the area. We are all hugely looking forward to this holiday!
